Last Wednesday, at the Pacific Design Center was filled with great energy during the MTS Design Talk.
Some of the things we discussed:

Can you believe that this is the same room redesigned by a professional?! We removed the knotty pine paneling, upgraded the bookcases in a beautiful walnut woof, and added a gas fireplace to create an impactful wall.
John Woolf originally designed this space as a dressing room, but I envisioned it to be a library filled with endless books. By adding bookcases with overhead light fixtures, it brought warmth and intimacy to the room.

A lot of people think that an interior designer mainly focuses on materials, fabrics, and furniture layout. However, their job consists more that just picking out paint and fabrics!
Let me give you some examples:

There are two professionals who can take on a project: architects and interior designers. These professionals can work together or individually to create the space you need.
One of the most important things in interior design is color. Picking out which colors that would look good together may seem like an uncomplicated task, but it is easier said than done!
Color sets the tone and feeling throughout the house! You see it everywhere; from the exterior of the house to the interior, it should always look cohesive and balanced from the moment you land your eyes on it.
Donna Livingston loves to play with color and design.
When reflecting on your current state of mind, do you feel balanced and full of energy or do you feel overwhelmed and chaotic? As an interior designer, I too must give myself a little check-in. It’s especially important when I’ve taken on a lot of design projects. It’s easy to get busy with all the demands of work and life that self-renewal and personal time can take a backseat.
