The inspiration for this project came when my clients wanted an Asian Contemporary designed house. I had just finished their very East Coast white clapboard house with great success so I was intrigued with my next assignment. They traveled and I gutted their new Palm Desert house in the very hot summer. I was very inspired by a Coppersmith I found in Colorado who I commissioned to design the Front Gates with a bamboo motif. As that unfolded, I got the idea to do panels around the perimeter of the house to gain height and add a drama that was timeless. I was further inspired by an amazing embroidery silk oriental screen that was placed above the living room bar. Everything about this project I loved especially the use of exotic woods, and veneers.
